Photography in Paradise

I have been waiting for many months to see some surf in California. Not only do you have a water shortage but the waves have been non-existent. The weather has been unseasonably warm, hovering in the 70’s every day and clear sunny skies. Now that the waves are here so are the surf starved wave hogs. I am not even tempted to get in the waves with all the inconsiderate, selfish, fuck-you wave riders populating the shoreline and beaches. Watching the clowns in the wave circus is not fun anymore. I just enjoy the warm sun and clear sky and remember days past when you could share a wave and not get run over every time you go in the water. Surfing for me is an intense emotional release with Nature. Not a social argument with others. But those times are old history and the togetherness is fading fast.

Here are some snap shots of the current waving at Sunset Cliffs in Point Loma, San Diego.
