Photography in Paradise

peeking from behind the sensor

I made a quick run to Lake Tahoe to pick up 54 framed black and white prints of Lake Tahoe and Glenbrook. I spent over 25 years photographing there and had my darkroom there. I sure miss that darkroom.

I went up HWY 395 passed Mono Lake and took some Infrared images but when I got to Bridgeport just north of the Mono Lake the sky was getting hazy and orange from the huge fire north of Yosemite  and by the time I arrive in Minden Nevada the visibility was reduced to 1/2 mile. When I went up the mountain to Lake Tahoe the haze had thinned but still smelled like burning wood.  That evening the sunset was the smoke filled sky. It took some images around the house and Glenbrook but everything was rusty orange in the smokey light. Breathing was not fun. I left the next day and drove down the 5 freeway to get away from the smoke. It was only 104 degree in the valley.
