This January I spent time in Hong Kong with Mr. Steve Lu photographing his home in the New Territories in the Gold Coast. Steve is an architect, a Dao philosopher, artist and photographer and good friend. We spend many hours discussing work, thoughts on thinking and philosophy, art and music, the integration of east and west attitudes and its mind set and it is very stimulating for me to bridge the challenges of enigmatic creativity.
Steve is working on a book covering his architecture and philosophy and he asked me to present to him how I see his art.
These are some of the images I created for him. I used a Canon 5DMK2 and lenses in range from a 15mm fish-eye to 300mm. I worked from 6am to midnight every day for 6 days. The kind of work I love where I have complete freedom to do what ever I want. The philosophy and art in the images are as complex in meaning as is the Chinese writing where by the communicating extends beyond the design and graphic representations you first see when looking at the pictures. Free you thoughts and let the parasympathetic nervous system fill your emotions with visions from your experiences in life.
